MISS EDNA DAVIS RITES SUN. MAY 30

Funeral services for Miss Edna Davis were held last Sunday at the Methodist Church in Blair at 2 p.m. Her death followed an illness of several months.

Edna Marion Davis was born January 20, 1870 at Pleasant Point Maine, and died May 27, 1940 in her home in Lincoln. Her father died shortly after her birth, and her mother later married H. E. Meservey of Blair where Miss Davis grew to womanhood and was educated in the Blair schools. Naturally she during that time made a host of friends who idolized her for her fine character and lovable disposition.

After retiring from teaching, she moved to Lincoln where she spent the remainder of her life. After her death the body was brought to her old home for interment, and at the funeral rites people from over the county, many of them her old pupils, turned out to show their respect, and it was very fitting that they should as her life was as nearly perfect as it is possible for human to be, and her old pupils will always look to her as an example of Christian fortitude and right living.

Besides a host of warm friends, she leaves a stepsister, Mrs. Julia Windstorm of Fremont and a stepbrother, Dr. Arthur Meservey of Los Angeles, Calif.
