RITES FOR MRS. JOHN L. WOLFE

Jessie Francis Safford was born in the Yankee Hill Community southwest of Lincoln May 13, 1887. As a girl she was a member of the Rokeby Congregational Church, attended the Pleasant Hill grade school and the Lincoln High School. She was graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1910 after which she taught at the Yankee Hill school. On June 28, 1911 she was united in marriage to John L. Wolfe and to this union three children were born, Ruth, (Mrs. John Mackin); John Benjamin (deceased), and Leland.

The greater part of her married life was lived near Denton, Nebraska until five years ago the family moved to Kennard where they lived two years. From there they moved onto a farm near Arlington where they now live.

Her death follows that of her Husband, John L. Wolfe, on January 4, 1947 and a son, John Benjamin, on December 6, 1941.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John Mackin of Blair; a son, Leland at home, a sister, Mrs. R. R. Schrader of Lincoln and two grandchildren, Larry and Patricia Mackin, and an aunt, Helen Gumaer of Lincoln.

Her home and her family were the center of her thoughts. She enjoyed life the most when she could be doing something for the members of her family. She enjoyed her many friends and was interested in their lives.

She had been ill since the latter part of December, and passed away at the Dodge County Community Hospital in Fremont March 10th following a heart attack.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 12th at 2 o’clock at the Hodgkin Splain Mortuary in Lincoln. Rev. John P. Brooks officiating. Interment was made in the Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
