Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 4, 1979, for Mrs. Olga May Allen, 99, who passed away on July 27, 1979 at Blair Memorial Community Hospital, after a brief illness. Mrs. Allen had celebrated her 99th birthday on June 10th with an Open House at her home. The memorial service will be held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, at 10:30 Saturday. Memorials are suggested to the church or Blair Hospital.

Mrs. Allen was born on June 8, 1880 at Blair to Daniel W. Case and Sarah Ann Beales. In 1898 she was married at Blair to A. Grant Allen. She lived her entire life in Washington County, and the Allens farmed for many years in the Fort Calhoun area. They moved to Blair in 1948. Mr. Allen died on March 29, 1958 in a traffic accident.

Mrs. Allen remained in her present home until the past few weeks of her life, when she became ill. She was active in her church and community activities in spite of many handicaps. She was constantly busy with handiwork and extensive letter writing.

Survivors include four nieces: Mrs. Catherine Ebener of Omaha; Mrs. Thirza Buckner of Mountain View, California; Mrs. Cora Carstensen of San Clemente, California, and Mrs. Sara Bing of Chicago, Illinois. There are also three nephews of Mr. Allen living in this area; S. Pierce Allen of Fort Calhoun; John Allen of Omaha; and Mac (Pat) Allen of Blair. J. Clark Gollehon, of Shell Knob, Missouri, a dear friend of the Allens, who lived with the family for many years, also survives. ~~~Obituary courtesy of the Washington County Genealogical Society.
