FRANK M. WILKINS

Funeral services for Frank M. Wilkins, long time resident of this community, who died Friday at his home, were conducted Sunday afternoon in the Methodist church by Rev. H. F. Beebe. A quartette composed of Mrs. Alvin Anderson, Miss Lucy Lawson, Allen W. Laaker and Therlo Reckmeyer sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Rock of Ages”. They were accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Allen W. Laaker. Pallbearers were Farnum Franzenburg, Richard Melvard, James Brdicko, Ted Antrim, Joe Antrim and Richard Sclapfer. Burial was in Lyons, Nebraska cemetery under the direction of the Reckmeyer and Son Funeral home.

Mr. Wilkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Zephaniah Wilkins was born September 16, 1865 in Springfield, Illinois. At the age of two he came to Nebraska with his parents where they homesteaded in the eastern part of the state. He married Stella M. Walter of Omaha March 29, 1897. The couple moved to Arlington 1924 where Mr. Wilkins was employed by the Marshall Nurseries until 10 years ago when ill health forced him to retire. Surviving, besides his widow, are three daughters, Mrs. Clara Triplett of Omaha, Mrs. Floyd Ludwig of Lansing, Michigan and Mrs. Etha Bring of Rosalie and a son, Frank, of North Platte. Two brothers, Charles of Denver and Ernest Wilkins, who resides in Missouri and five grandchildren also survive him.
