MRS. FULVIA MADSEN RITES TUESDAY

Mrs. Fullvia Madsen, aged 75 years, passed away Jan. 23 at her home south of Blair following a brief illness. Deceased was born in a log cabin near Council Bluffs, Iowa on July 4th 1872. Here she grew to womanhood and for a term of years taught school. She was married to Patrick Keegan in 1891, and to them 12 children were born, three of whom preceded her in death.

The surviving children are Mrs. Herman Neuman of Blair, Mrs. Charles Peng and Katherine Keegan of Chicago, and Francis, John, Richard, Lucas and James Keegan of Blair, and Kenneth Keegan of Washington, D.C., three sisters and 15 grandchildren.

She had made her home for some time with her sons James and Lucas. She was a good mother and neighbor and will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday from the Bendorf Funeral Home, and interment was made in St. Joseph’s cemetery in Council Bluffs.

Note: The Vig Files at the Danish American Archives has her death date recorded at Jan. 23, 1948; her maiden name Fitzgerald; and that her second marriage was to Peter Madsen who died in 1937 and is buried in Audubon, Iowa.
