Robert C. “Bob” Miles age 87 of Fremont, Nebraska passed away Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha. He was born October 25, 1932 in Fremont to Paul and Myrtle M. (Lash) Miles.

Bob has lived his entire life in Fremont. He was a 1950 graduate of Fremont High School. He then played football at Midland College for two years. Bob married Eleanor Freeman on February 22, 1955 in Fremont. She preceded him in death on October 12, 2008.

When he was young he raised and showed Show Horses, worked at his parents greenhouse and trained Labrador retrievers. He loved hunting, fishing and was very handy especially with restoring old cars like MG’s. He loved the river and cat-fishing. After his dad passed in 1968 he took over the Miles Greenhouse and ran it until retiring in 1995.

Bob was a member and past president of the Lions Club in Fremont, various floral associations like FTD and Tel-A-Floral, Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce. He was also famous for his joke telling and for being very stubborn. Bob was also an avid Husker fan.

Bob is survived by his children; son, Todd (Judy) Miles of Fremont; daughters, Robyn (Bill) Miller of Lincoln and Julie (John) Moser of Fremont; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and special friend, Marilyn Leehy of Blair, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ellie; sister, Peggy Miller and his best friend since the age of 5 years old, A.W. Larry Murphy.

Funeral Service will be 11 AM, Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Rev. Michael McGregor will officiate. Controlled visitation will be on Monday from 4-7 PM also at Moser’s and 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Interment will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
