RYDSTROM, Doris E. 12/16/1932 – 4/1/2020

Doris Vogt was born on December 16, 1932 in Arlington, NE to Clara and Fred Vogt. She grew up on the family farm while attending St. Paul’s Lutheran School before eventually graduating from Arlington High School.

After leaving Arlington, Doris moved to Omaha to further her education. Throughout her life Doris worked in a variety of roles, primarily in the banking and finance industry, before retiring from Lutz and Company in mid-90’s.

On October 18, 1956 Doris married Bill Rydstrom of Marathon, IA at First Lutheran Church in Omaha. In 1957 they gave birth to daughter Elizabeth. After living in Tennessee and South Carolina for a few years, Doris and Bill returned to Omaha where they gave birth to their son Charles in 1970. They have lived in Omaha ever since.

Doris and Bill were charter members of Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church in Omaha. Over the years Doris was active in the choir, women’s ministry and the start up of the Little Lamb Pre School.

Preceded in death by: daughter, Liz Petersen; sister, Joan Stork; brother, Lloyd Vogt.

Survived by: husband, Bill; son, Charles; son-in-law, Gregg Petersen; grandson, Cole Petersen; sisters: Dorothy Vogt & Opal Miller.

Visitation: Sunday, April 5, 2020 from 2-4:00pm at Braman Mortuary – Southwest Chapel (Social distancing will be enforced).

Interment: Voss Mohr Cemetery
