EARLY SETTLER PASSES MONDAY

Isaac Dennis, one of Blair’s earlier settlers, died Monday at 11:45 a.m. of an attack of heart trouble. Deceased was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on April 2, 1856 and was thus past 84 years of age at his death.

On July 4, 1878 he was united in marriage to Alice Hawley in Blair and they immediately began housekeeping here. To them six children were born, three of whom are still living, Otis and Bruce of Blair and Mrs. Perry Weaver of Boone, Iowa. The wife preceded him in death on June 29, 1911.

He was one of two remaining charter members of the Blair Fire Department, Jonas Burcham being the other.

Funeral tires were held Wednesday at 10:00 am. from the Bendorf Funeral Home with Rev. John P. Brooks of the Methodist church officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
