WM. F. LAAKER RITES THURSDAY

William Frederick Laaker, who passed away last Monday afternoon at about 2 o’clock, was born in Germany August 16, 1861 and was thus past 79 years of age. At the age of 18 years he came to America and made his home with his uncle, Casper Laaker. In 1887 he was married to Miss Marie Meyer, and to this union five children were born, three sons and two daughters.

In 1898 his wife died and two years later he married Miss Carolina Schiemeyer, and to them nine children were born, six sons and three daughters. Three sons and one daughter preceded him in death. Surviving him are his widow and ten children, Henry, William, Albert and Mrs. E. W. Stork of Arlington; Mrs. Ray Thompson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Lawrence, Obert, Leonard and Caroline Laaker.

He had lived for fifty years on the farm on which he died and had made many friends in his immediate vicinity.

The funeral services under the direction of Chris K. Bendorf and with G. W. Wolter officiating will be held at the St. Paul’s Lutheran church at 2 o’clock this Thursday afternoon, and interment made in the church cemetery. The pallbearers are to be his grandsons, Martin and Herbet Dickmeyer, Herbert Bierman, Allard Panning, Clarence Stork and a cousin, Arthur Laaker.
