Former Blair resident Okla L. Allen, 92, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at the Ottertail Nursing Home in Battle Lake, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at First United Methodist Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Allen Pioneer Memorial Cemetery.

Okla Lucille Allen was born April 27, 1912, in Falls City to August V. and Aimmee (Bridgmon) Boggs. As a small child, she moved with her parents to Fort Calhoun, where she graduated from high school in 1930.

On May 30, 1938, she married Mac Allen. The couple farmed in Washington County until 1982, when they retired and moved to Blair. Most recently, Mrs. Allen made her home in Minnesota to be near her daughter.

Mrs. Allen enjoyed cooking, sewing, embroidery, genealogy, and scrapbooking. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, and was a past member of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her two children, daughter and son-in-law, Merri and Richard Vinton of Battle Lake, Minn., and son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Midge Allen of Klamoth Falls, Ore.; four grandchildren and their spouses; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Memorials are suggested to the Washington County Historical Association or the First United Methodist Church of Blair.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
