William Bennett Brunton

Funeral services were held Thursday, September 14, at the First Methodist Church of Oakland for William B. Brunton, 65, who died Monday, September 11, at the Oakland Memorial Hospital. Burial was at the Lyons Cemetery. Mr. Brunton had been in the automobile and implement business in Oakland the past six years.

William Brunton, son of the late Taylor and Mary Brunton of Blair, was born on a farm near Blair in November of 1884. He received his education in the Blair schools and as young man moved to the state of Washington where his marriage to Opal Bovee occurred in 1909. Five children, all surviving, were born to them. In 1918 the Bruntons moved to Canada and farmed for two years. Returning to Nebraska to farm, they resided in the Lyons vicinity until 1944 when they moved to Oakland.

Among the sibling survivors is sister Mrs. Joe Allen of Blair.

WM. BRUNTON DIES IN OAKLAND

Wm. Brunton, a former Blair man and a native of Blair, died in Oakland, Nebraska on Monday morning. Deceased was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Brunton and a brother of Mrs. Joe Allen of this city.

He leaves to mourn him his wife, Opal, and four sons and one daughter, and several grandchildren. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Gladys McConnell and Mrs. D. K. Gustin, both of Washington state and Palmer Brunton, a brother of California.
