FORMER KENNARD SUPERINTENDENT IS DEATH VICTIM

Passed Away at Home of Son in Illinois Last Saturday

Ira Lamb, 85, former superintendent of schools of Kennard, died at the home of his eldest son, George, in Willamette, Illinois July 27.

Funeral services were held in Hooper Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Interment was made in the Hooper cemetery.

“Professor” Lamb, as he was known to his many friends and former students, devoted his entire life to educational activities. After teaching for two years in Oregon he came to Nebraska where he taught for 54 consecutive years.

The Nebraska School Journal and other publications paid tribute to Mr. Lamb at the conclusion of his fiftieth year in educational work.

Schools in which Prof. Lamb was a member of the faculty included Hooper, Stanton, Atkinson, Stuart, the united group Cotner, University Place and Bethany, Alma, Nelson, Papillion, Sargent, Milford, Waterloo, Denton, Bennet and Kennard, his last position from which he retired in 1933.
