FORMER BLAIRITE DIES IN OMAHA

Chas. P. Rodman of Omaha died Sunday night at his home in Omaha. He had been in poor health for some time and the end was not unexpected.

He was born in Medora, Indiana on January 8, 1868, and was thus past 72 years of age. In his early life he came to Blair where he lived for four years. During that time he, with Don C. Van Deusen, ran the “Courier” located in the old telephone building north of Lundt Bros. store.

On April 8, 1891 he was married to Minnie Alberry of this city and they moved to Oakland, Nebraska where he took the editorship of a paper, later moving to Wausa, Nebraska where he was in a similar position.

After leaving Wausa he worked on what is now the Journal Stockman in South Omaha and from that he went into the railway mail service, serving in that position and in the post office in Omaha. He was retired at the age of 65 years.

Besides his wife he leaves three children, Giselle Darling, Mrs. Gertrude Morris and Gerald Rodman; also two sisters, Mrs. Hettie McCann of Omaha and Mrs. Mary Wahlstrom of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and one brother, Frank of Blair.

Funeral services were held at the home in Omaha at 10 o’clock Wednesday morning, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
