LONG TIME FARMER DIED SUNDAY

Rites Held Wednesday Afternoon For Thomas Christensen

Thomas Christensen, farmer west of Blair, passed away on May 5 at his home. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the First Lutheran church with Rev. Harold C. Jorgensen and Rev. H. Nielsen officiating, and burial was made in the Blair cemetery. Music at the church was furnished by a male quartette from Dana college and Emery Petersen of Blair.

Born April 14, 1874 at Tranderup, Sogn, Aero, Denmark, Mr. Christensen was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran church while residing in the old country. In 1890 he emigrated to the United States and made his home for some time at Pender, after moving to California. He returned to Wisner, Nebraska in 1895 for a ten year period, and since March, 1905 he had lived west of Blair.

He was married to Miss Petrine Hansen of Tranderup Sogn, Aero, Denmark at Kansas city, Missouri on December 10, and three children were born to their union. Johannes, who died in infancy; and two sons, Karl and Eric, both of Blair. Three brothers, Hans and Eric in Denmark and Jens of Audubon, Iowa, also survive. The wife passed away in 1933.
