RITES FOR HERMAN CITIZEN TUESDAY

Mrs. Katie D. Zimmerman of Herman passed away at her home on Sunday, February 11, aged 76 years, and funeral rites were held at 2:00 the following Tuesday at the Herman Methodist church, Rev. A. W. Clarke officiating.

Mrs. Zimmerman was born at Keokuk, Iowa on September 9, 1863. She was married to Gottlieb Zimmerman, native of Switzerland, at Cuming City on March 29, 1885, and settled in Herman. To this union were born five children, two of whom are still living, Fred and Alfred of Herman. The husband preceded her in death in 1938. Mrs. Zimmerman spent almost her entire life in this county, having moved to a home in Herman last October.

Surviving are the sons; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Shipley of Chicago and Mrs. Jenny Louthan of Denver, Colorado; three brothers, William A. Watkins of Fremont; Joshua Watkins of Omaha; and John Watkins of Fort Calhoun; four grandchildren; and a host of friends.
