Adolph Heinrich “Henry” Steffen
Died on 11/12/1922
Buried in German Cemetery

Published in the Enterprise November 16, 1922

Word reaches the Enterprise of the death of A. H. Steffen of Bennington. Mr. Steffen was a pioneer settler of this county having resided on his fine farm near the German Hall for many years, but a number of years back he retired from active duties and moved to Bennington.

In his dealing with men Mr. Steffen was most scrupulously honest and honorable in every way. In his family he was as nearly perfect father and husband as could be found. In disposition, very quiet and always gentlemanly in his demeanor, a true type of the old time gentleman. A true man in every respect.

It has been the pleasure of the writer to have known him intimately for the past twenty-five or more years and the association has been most helpful and full of pleasant memories.

His death occurred last Sunday, Nov. 12, the funeral services being held last Tuesday in Bennington and interment made in the German cemetery near his old home.

He leaves to mourn him his wife and three daughters who have the sympathy of a large circle of friends who grieve with them over the loss that is a loss not only to them but to the whole community.
