News of the death of an early pioneer of this vicinity reached here the past week. V.C. Reynolds, age 80 years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bertha Burrier at York, following a long illness. Mr. Reynolds was born on September 24, 1857 in Portsmouth, Ohio, and when a small boy moved with his parents to Woodward county, Illinois, where he grew to manhood. After the death of his father, he made his home with his mother, Mrs. Mary Reynolds, and two sisters, Maymie and Anna Reynolds, moving with them to Arlington then known as Bell Creek, in 1880. After farming in this vicinity for seven years he moved to Jefferson county where he was married a year later to Armita Lloyd, who died ten years ago in Milburn. He is survived by three sons, George, of Vancouver, British Columbia; Virgil, of Montrose, California; Edmund, of Milburn; two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Burrier, of York; and Mrs. Mayme Taylor, of West Point, Nebraska; one brother, E.N. Reynolds, of Denver, Colorado; three sisters, Mrs. Mayme Heuerman, of Fort Morgan, Colorado; Mrs. Clara Harrison and Mrs. Emma Moore, both of Denver, Colorado. A sister, Mrs. Anna McVey, died in 1927, and a brother, Frank, died in 1936. Burial took place in Broken Bow.
