RITES HELD FOR MRS. HENRY HANSEN

Mrs. Henry Hansen was born in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany on February 24, 1856, and passed away in Blair, Nebraska on August 17, 1947. She was thus 91 years, 5 months and 24 days old at the time of her death. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Germany, came to America at the age of 16 years, and at the age of 19 years was married to Mr. Henry Hansen in Omaha, Nebraska. The young couple moved to the Fort Calhoun community, and lived there until 1915 when they came to Blair. Mr. Hansen passed away in 1919. The Hansen’s were childless, but adopted an orphan boy, Frank Petersen who together with his wife, have given Mrs. Hansen the home and the care she needed in her declining years. She leaves no other living relatives except one nephew and several grand nephews and nieces.

The funeral service was held in First Lutheran Church on August 20, and burial was made in the Ft. Calhoun cemetery.
