BENNINGTON RITES FOR FRED OHRT, 70

Funeral services for Fred Ohrt, 70, prominent retired rural resident who lived two miles northeast of Bennington, were held at the Bennington Lutheran church.

Pallbearers were John Desler, Eggerf Ohrt, Sidney Dillon, Herman Buller, Harley Smith and R. Fedde. Honorary pallbearers were John Luschen, Telford Roe, Harold Roe, Otto Gottsch, Ben Gottsch, John Johansen, George Anderson, Ted Grau, Otto Boettger and Bill Luschen.

Prominent in civic affairs, Mrs. Ohrt was president of the Douglas county extension service and of the county agricultural society, chairman of the noxious weed board, treasurer of School Doistrict 34 for 42 years, treasurer of the Washington County Fire Insurance company, secretary of the Farmers Union of Bennington, director of the Bank of Bennington, and member of the Plattdeutcher Verein and North Side Farm bureau.
