L. D. ARNOLD, 86, DIES AT HOSPITAL

L. D. Arnold, 86, a resident of Nickerson for the past 30 years, died Monday evening at the Dodge County Community hospital. He was taken to the hospital two weeks ago.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Lawson funeral home in Fremont. Burial will be in the family lot in Ridge cemetery.

Mr. Arnold was born march 25, 1861 at Harrisonville, Mo., and was married to Corintha Bilyne on Christmas Day in 1883. A grocery man, Mr. Arnold was in business in Fontanelle and Nickerson. He and his wife have resided in Nickerson for the past 30 years, and he has been retired from active business for the past few years. A member of the Odd Fellows lodge at Nickerson, he recently received his 50 year pin for membership in the Order.

He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. I. C. Cahoon of Lincoln and Mrs. P. C. Cahoon who lives in Oregon; four sons, Will of Oregon; Harry of Nickerson; Raymond of California; and Chester of Lincoln; 13 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Deceased was a former Blair resident and a cousin by marriage of Mrs J. P. Jensen of this city.
