MRS. JOE JESSEN VICTIM OF STROKE

Mrs. Joe Jessen passed away on Monday, Feb. 17th, following a stroke which she suffered on Sunday evening. She was born July 13, 1897 in Waco, Texas to Rev. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Wein. Her girlhood was spent in Waco and later the family lived in Minnesota.

They resided in Orum for a number of years where the father had charge of the church and later they moved to Troy, New York. Here she was married to Joe Jessen on March 20, 1918. Since their marriage they have spent most of their life in this county and for the past five years have resided on the Willard Jensen farm near Kennard.

Mrs. Jessen was the mother of five children. One died in infancy. Those surviving her are John of Blair, Ruth of Omaha, Mrs. Herbert Hansen of Orum and Gloria of Blair. Her father died about four years ago, but her mother, with four brothers and three sisters and the above mentioned children survive, and with the husband grieve deeply her tragic death.

The funeral services were held at the First Lutheran church in Blair on Wednesday afternoon by Rev. H. C. Jorgensen, assisted by Dr. N. C. Carlsen, and burial was made in the Blair cemetery.
