Mrs. Harriet Lawson passed away Sunday morning at 6 o’clock at her home here after several weeks of illness. She was born at Madrid, Iowa Sept. 16th, 1867, and passed away Jan. 5th, 1947. She was married in Madrid in August, 1888 to Mr. D. W. Lawson and in 1907 the family moved to Longpine, Nebr. In 1910 they moved to Arlington where Mr. Lawson took over the duties of Agent for the C. and N.W. They have resided here since that time. Mr. Lawson passed away in August, 1935, and their one son also preceded his mother in 1938.

Mrs. Lawson was a member of the Methodist church, a member of Serapta Chapter of the O.E.S. and a loyal member of the American Legion. Mrs. Lawson is the last surviving member of a family of nine. She leaves to mourn her passing four daughters, Miss Lucy at home; Mrs. E. L. Damon and Mrs. M. G. Eckhoff of Omaha; and Mrs. Alvin Anderson of Arlington, besides four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Rev. A. W. Clarke of the M. E. Church officiated at the services, which were held Wednesday at the Lawson Funeral Home in Fremont, with interment in Omaha.
