NIELS JENSEN

Niels Jensen was born in Sjalland, Denmark February 7, 1865. He came to this country in 1883, living at Elk Horn, Iowa for three years. From Elk Horn he moved to Gordon, Nebr. where he, together with other relatives, homesteaded for a number of years. These years were years of hardship. Later they moved to a more promising location, Plainview, Nebraska.

Mr. Jensen was a faithful member of the Danish Bethany Lutheran church.

In 1913 he retired from farming and moved to Blair, Nebraska. He passed away on the morning of December 2, 1946 at the home of his niece, Mrs. Nels Nygaard, with whom he lived.

He is survived by 13 nieces and nephews. They are as follows: Mrs. Nels Nygaard, John Jensen, Carl Jensen, Mrs. Hans Madsen, Mrs. M. C. Vintner, Mrs. Herman Nelson, Bertha Jensen, Mrs. Hans Julsgaard, Peter Christiansen, Carl Christiansen, Johnny Christiansen, Miss Christine Cole, Mrs. McManigal.

Funeral will be held at First Lutheran Church in Blair.
