HENRY BETTS DIES OF STROKE Henry Betts, a resident of Blair for the past eighteen years, passed away Monday morning at 8:15 following a stroke from which he suffered for one week.

He was born November 4, 1874 in Malvern, Iowa and on September 20, 1900 he was married to Miss Mary Barker. To them nine children were born, all of whom, with the bereaved wife, survive and mourn deeply their loss.

The children are Wm. of Rockford, Ill.; Mrs. Tom Smith of Blair; Elmer of Blair; Andrew of Council Bluffs; Mrs. Earl McMurtrie and Roy of Blair; Floyd of Rockford, Ill.; Mrs. Emmett Steffen of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Albert Eddie of Blair.

Deceased was a man highly respected by those who knew him. Strictly honest in his dealings and a good father and husband who will be missed greatly by his friends and his loved ones.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from Campbell’s Mortuary, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
