DEATH CALLS PIONEER BLAIR WOMAN

Mrs. Ola Jacobson Died Friday At Age Of 80 Years

BORN IN OMAHA IN 1866

Mrs. Ola Jacobson, pioneer settler and a resident of this county since 1869, passed away last Friday evening. Deceased was born in Omaha September 16, 1866, and when three years old came to this county.

As Mary Mortensen she grew to womanhood here, and on October 22, 1883 she was married to Ola Jacobson. The ceremony was performed in Blair with Judge Jesse T. Davis officiating.

Until February 11, 1915 they farmed near Blair and while on the farm their family of eight children were born and reared. Of the family of children the following are still living: Mrs. Josephine Hitchcock, Kansas City, Kansas; Mrs. Henry C. Jensen, Blair; Martin Jacobson, Alliance, Nebraska; Mrs. Wm. Kingdon, Riverside, California; Mrs. Herbert Hurd, Belgrade, Nebraska; Mrs. Bertha Hooks and Alice of Blair.

Besides the above mentioned children the husband, now ninety years of age, is left to mourn her passing. Besides these, fifteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren survive.

Funeral services were held last Monday at 2 p.m from the Methodist church with Rev. Sidney L. McCaig officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

In honor of their beloved deceased mother, all the children were present at the last sad rites. Their loyalty and their love for their deceased loved one made the gathering one never to be forgotten.
