AUGUST STRANGHOENER RITES ON WEDNESDAY

Arlington - August Stranghoener, long time resident of Arlington and Washington county, died unexpectedly Saturday evening at the Fred Jakob home where he had been visiting his sister, Mrs. Fred Jakob.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran church. Rev. Victor W. Hoffmann, pastor of Trinity church in Fremont officiated. Interment was made in the church cemetery. W. A. Reckmeyer and Son were in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Stranghoener, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Stranghoener, was born December 1, 1874. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He was actively engaged in farming northeast of Arlington until a year ago when he retired and moved to Fremont.

Surviving are his widow; one brother, Herman of Fremont; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Stork and Mrs. Lizzie Scheer.
