RITES HELD FOR A. W. ROSE Absolom William Rose was born September 17, 1857 at Muscatine, Iowa, and passed away September 19, 1946 at the Odd Fellow’s Home at York, Nebraska at the age of 89 years and two days.

He came to Nebraska in 1874 where he resided on a farm near Blair.

Mr. Rose and Isabelle Thompson were married at Blair, Nebraska on February 12, 1877. Except for eleven years spent in Kansas, the major portion of his life was spent farming in Eastern Nebraska, retiring to Blair in 1911.

Mr. Rose was a member of the Odd Fellow’s Lodge of Blair and the First Baptist Church.

Surviving him are four sons, Edgar of Ellensburg, Washington; Edwin of Molla, Oregon; John of Sioux City, Iowa; Roy of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and four daughters, Mrs. Carrie Taylor of Long Beach, California; Mrs. Lizzie Hoar of Walthill, Nebraska; Mrs. Elsie Buck of Chicago, Ill.; and Mrs. Myrtle Askwig of Billings, Montana.

He is also survived by twenty six grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and two sons who died in infancy.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Baptist church with Rev. D. D. Kennedy officiating, and interment was in the Blair cemetery under the auspices of C. K. Bendorf, mortician.
