Herman - Miss Jennie Belle Bree, daughter of the late William and Mary Bree, was born May 19, 1873 on a farm northwest of Herman, and passed away at the Blair Hospital Sept. 5, 1946 at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 17 days.

While in her teens, she, with her parents, moved into Herman where she lived the rest of her life. Prior to their move to Herman, she attended the Davis school which was located just north of the present Huit Lowe farm home. The school house is now extinct.

On June 11, 1902 she was united in marriage to William Adams at the home of her parents in Herman. The late Rev. George A. Smith, then pastor of the local Baptist Church officiating.

Soon after the wedding the young couple moved into their new home which had just been completed in Herman. In this home they lived all their married life.

One son and one daughter were born to Mr. and Mrs. Adams. The son, Roland, preceded his mother in death on February 2, 1911.

Mrs. Adams had been a member of the local Baptist Church since 1907 and was a faithful member. She served as the president of the Baptist Ladies’ Guild at different times and held other offices of honor. She was also a member of the Herman Woman’s Club for a number of years.

She is survived by her husband, her daughter, Mrs. Donald (Marie) Aylesworth of Denver, Colo., and one grandchild, Kenneth Donald Aylesworth; three nieces, one nephew, other relatives and many friends who regret her departure.

Her funeral was held Sunday, Sept. 8. 1946 at the Baptist church in Herman at two o’clock. Rev. A. W. Clark conducted the services. Interment was made in the Herman Cemetery.
