EARLY SETTLER DIES

Ernest Wager was born at Watertown, Wis. August 2nd, 1859, and died at his home in Arlington, Nebr. August 21, 1946, aged 87 years and 19 days.

He was married to Dora Rul in Iowa in 1885, and she passed away in 1886. On Oct. 10, 1892 he was united in marriage to Miss Carrie Brown at Thurman, Colo., and to this union were born 5 children. Two died in infancy and Mrs. Leona Mitchell in Febr., 1934. Mrs. Wager passed away in August, 1932. Two children, Mrs. A. C. Wimer and Vernon Wager, both of Arlington survive. There are also four half brothers in Council bluffs, Iowa: Henry, Gus, Isadore and L. G. Wager.

He came to Nebraska in 1894 and farmed near Arlington to 1917 when the family came to town to live. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith as a boy and was a member of the M.W.A. camp of Arlington and Hiram Lodge No. 52 A.F. and M.

Four grandchildren also survive him.

Services were Friday p.m. in the local Methodist church at 2:30 with Rev. A. W. Clark in charge. Therlow Reckmeyer and Mrs. Otto Renard sang with Mrs. Allen Laaker as accompanist.
