ROLAND LEROY CHRIST

Funeral services were held July 24th afternoon at 4 o’clock at the Salem Lutheran Church of Fontanelle for Roland LeRoy Christ, 29, a farmer from the Telbasta community who died at an Omaha hospital July 20 after a lingering illness. Dr. M. A. Ritzen officiated.

Born at Herman, Nebraska, later moving to Telbasta where his entire life was spent with the exception of four years spent in Fremont carpentering.

He was a member of the Salem Lutheran church of Fontanelle and was married to the former Loretta Strong January 29, 1941 at Fremont.

Survivors include the wife, a daughter, Marilyn Joanne, 4 years, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Christ of Fontanelle, brothers, Harold and Ervin of Fremont and Glenn with the occupation army in Germany, sisters, Mrs. Alvin Wilkening of Arlington and Louella of Fontanelle.

Music was furnished by Florence Llanghorst, Sophia Waterman, Russell Cunningham and George Neibaum, accompanied by Esther Langhorst at the organ.

Burial was made in the Herman cemetery. Pallbearers were Clarence Wilkening, Obert Gosker, Larry Timme, Donald Strenger, Kenneth Strenger and Harold Meierhenry.
