MRS. JOHN F. SMITH RITES TUESDAY

Mrs. John F. Smith passed away at her home on East Grant Street on Friday, July 19th after an illness of about a week.

She was born near Marietta, Washington County, Ohio July 13th, 1854. She grew to maturity in Marietta and on May 5, 1877 she was united in marriage to John F. Smith, and the young coupe at once came to Blair.

In her childhood Mrs. Smith was confirmed in the Lutheran faith, but upon coming to Blair both she and her husband joined the Presbyterian church, this was in 1885 after its organization here.

The husband died on May 2, 1933, and since then she has lived quietly with her children in the home on Grant street.

Surviving are a sister in Ohio and four children, Luther L., Walter W., Eva C. and Allen H. Smith and six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 21st, from the home with Rev. E. G. Aldridge officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
