PATRICK HEALEY DIES AT 90 YEARS

Patrick Healey, a resident of Blair for the past thirty years, died at his home on West Colfax Street at about one o’clock Tuesday morning, May 28th.

The attributing cause of his death was primarily old age. He had been in failing health for the past eighteen months, but was seriously ill for only twelve hours.

Deceased was born in Mayo County, Ireland on March 25, 1856, and when eleven years of age the family came to America, settling in Pennsylvania. Here he grew to manhood and for a time worked as a miner in the coal mines.

Later he came to Nebraska and at the age of twenty one homesteaded in Knox County. Here he met and married Elizabeth Green of Creighton. The ceremony took place in June of 1884.

Before going to Knox County, he worked around Blair for Watson Tyson, Sr. and for Patrick Quinlan. He also worked for a time on the railroad.

He moved to Blair in 1916, and since then has made this his home. The wife died in 1925. Of the family of six daughters and four sons, only five daughters survive. They are Mrs. Mary East of Sheridan, Wyoming; Miss Catherine Healey of Blair; Mrs. Ann Ellbogger of Worland, Wyoming; Mrs. Agnes Metzler and Mrs. Neil Denning, both of Los Angeles, California. Besides these, eight grandchildren survive.

Funeral services will be held from the Catholic Church on Saturday, June 1st, at 9 a.m., and interment will be made in the family lot in the Blair cemetery. It is expected that all the children will be present at the funeral rites.
