EARLY HERMAN SETTLER DIES

HERMAN - Raymond Triplett, son of the late Elza and Mary Ann Triplett, was born April 11, 1870 near Mondamin, Iowa, and passed away May 10, 1946 at his home in Herman at the age of 67 years, 29 days. In the year 1881 he came with his parents from Iowa to Nebraska where they located on a farm a mile west of Herman. Here he grew to manhood.

On January 7, 1905 he was united in marriage at Blair to Mary Kruse of Herman. To this union nine children were born, four sons and five daughters, all of who survive him. After the marriage, the young couple lived in the home of Mr. Triplett’s parents for one year, then resided on a farm a few miles north of Herman where they remained six years. They then returned to his former home and operated this farm until ten years ago when the family moved Herman.

Last February, due to ill health, Mr. Triplett was compelled to give up his work and later spent a few weeks in the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. He then returned home and through many weeks of illness he was never heard to complain.

Left to mourn his loss are his wife; his sons, Elzy and Harold of Tekamah; Howard of Omaha; and Floyd of Herman; the daughters, Mrs. Roscoe (Anna) Barton of Chicago; Mrs. Everett (Alice) Lamb of Blair; Mrs. Edward (Helen) Witting of Wayne; Mrs. Charles (Marian) Brodersen of Herman; and Donna Rae at home; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Parrish of Herman and Mrs. Wilbur Pipher of California; and one brother, Elzy of Herman; thirteen grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.
