MRS. LIZZIE LAAKER RITES HELD TODAY

ARLINGTON - Death came to Mrs. Lizzie Laaker, widow of John F. Laaker, at her home here on Monday evening shortly after six o’clock. Mrs. Laaker had been practically bedfast for the past two weeks, and had been in failing health for the past seven years.

As Lizzie May Wilson, she was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on July 7, 1869, the only daughter of P.Z. and Lizzie Wilson. In the fall of 1879 the Wilson family moved here and established the store which was well known throughout this part of the state as the famous P. Z. Store.

Mrs. Laaker finished her education in Oshkosh, and then clerked in her father’s store for many years until 1900 when she was united in marriage to John F. Laaker of this place.

Three children were born to this union, two of whom preceded their mother in death, a daughter who died in infancy in 1902 and a son, Harold, who passed away at the age of 11 in 1918.

She is survived by one son, Allen W. Laaker of this place, and two grandchildren, David and Sandra Laaker.
