FORMER BLAIR MERCHANT PASSES

Hans Jorgen Nielsen passed away at the Stricklett boarding home on Thursday, February 21st, after an illness of some months.

Deceased was born in Jutland, Denmark on March 27, 1869, and came to Custer County Nebraska in 1886 where he farmed for a number of years. Later he came to Washington County and was engaged in the lumber business for a while, also spending a number of years farming.

On August 21, 1913 he was married to Miss Anna Hansen. To them two children, Niels G. Nielsen of Blair and Roma, Mrs. Jack Peterson, of Rose Hill were born. Mrs. Nielsen passed away in 1938. In addition to his son and daughter, Mr. Nielsen leaves to mourn his passing a brother, H. Skov Nielsen of Blair and two grandchildren, Barbara and Joyce Nielsen.

Funeral services were held in First Lutheran Church on Sunday afternoon, February 24th, and burial was made in Blair Cemetery. Rev. H. C. Jorgensen conducted the services and Bendorf Mortuary was in charge of the burial arrangements.
