HENRY LORENZEN DIED AT WAYNE LATE SUNDAY

Successful Farmer, Former School Board Member, County Assessor

Henry H. Lorenzen, who has been in failing health for several years, passed away Sunday evening at a hospital in Wayne, Nebraska.

Deceased was born in Newton, Iowa on April 14, 1878, and at an early age came to Nebraska. His mother died when he was seven years of age. He was married on Dec. 18, 1910 to Miss Anna Von Lanken, the ceremony taking place in Blair.

After their marriage they lived on a farm southeast of Blair for thirty years, and then retired and moved to Blair. While on the farm he took an active interest in the local school and served for a number of years on the school board. He was also much interested in the county fair and his exhibits won him a number of prizes.

After moving to Blair, he was elected county assessor, but his health failed him and before his term was out his condition forced him to resign his office. Ill health pursued him and he suffered several strokes, one of which finally took his life.

Besides the wife, one son, Edward, is left to mourn him, also two sisters, Miss Lulu Lorenzen, who made her home with him, and Mrs. Clark Browning of this city.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon from the Calhoun Presbyterian church, and interment was made in the Calhoun cemetery.
