#1-9 Sept., 1908 - The Pilot - Randall McDonald

Randall, son of Mr. and Mrs. John McDonald, who live about 3 1/2 miles south of town, died at 4 o’clock this morning of spinal meningitis. He had not been well for almost two years, but was actually down sick less than a week. He was with his father threshing and had to quit last Thursday. The funeral will be held at the Methodist church in this city at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, Rev. Shick officiating. Randall was 22 years of age the 30th of last January. Besides his parents he leaves five brothers and four sisters who will deeply mourn the passing of his young life.

#2-16 Sept., 1908 - The Tribune - Randall McDonald

Randall McDonald, son of Mr. ad Mrs. John McDonald, died at 4:30 a.m. last Wednesday after a week’s illness. The funeral was held on Friday afternoon, Rev. Shick officiating, and was attended by many friends of the family. Randall was coming twenty three years of age, and his untimely death brings sorrow to the family who, in their bereavement, have the sympathy of the entire community.

Randall McDonald, who lived with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John McDonald south of Blair, died last Wednesday morning and was buried from the Methodist church Friday afternoon. Deceased was 22 years of age and was a member of the M. W. A. lodge of this city, in which organization he carried $2,000 insurance. The cause of his death was kidney trouble from which he had suffered for some time, but had not been bedfast until a few days before his death. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community in the loss of a kind and dutiful son and brother.
