#1-12 Aug., 1908 - The Pilot - Herman Jacobson

The death of Herman Jacobson, the Calhoun butcher, occurred last Friday morning at 2 o’clock. They had two doctors from Omaha Thursday, but they could not save him. The funeral was held Monday morning, and the body was shipped to Blair for burial.

DIED IN CALHOUN

Herman Jacobsen, for twenty years a butcher at Calhoun, died from blood poisoning last Saturday morning, and was buried in the Blair Catholic cemetery Monday. Deceased leaves a wife and one child.

The pallbearers were W. E. Worline, John Daly, J. J. Shinnick, Martin Brandt, Herman Wolff and John Mornan. Following is a partial list of the people who drove from that neighborhood to attend the services: George Fitzgerald, wife and family; John Fitzgerald, John and Dennis Daly and mother, J. B. Sully, John and Mike Kelly and Henry Micheels.

Relatives from abroad were: Mrs. M Felchtinger and son of Pleasant Valley; Mrs. Lena Smeal of Snyder; Mrs. Wm. Schultz of Wisner; Mrs. F. Mintken of Nickerson; Theodore Sturbaum of Snyder; Anna Baer of Omaha; Henry Wenninghoff of Benson; and Minnie and Alvin Workman of So. Omaha.
