23 Nov., 1905 - The Blair Democrat - Albert “Bert” T. McCumber

Word was received here by relatives last Thursday of the death of Albert T. McCumber, who was reported in these columns last week as being seriously ill. Deceased was born in Burlington, Wis. September 2, 1857, and came to Nebraska with his parents. Bert, as he was familiarly known, learned telegraphy here a number of years ago, and at the time of his death was working for the Western Union Company in Chicago. The remains were brought here for burial Monday, and funeral services held at the residence of E. J. Farr. Deceased leaves a wife, father and sister, Mrs. E. J. Farr, besides his numerous friends to mourn his death. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Nairn, cousins, of Carrol, Neb. were present at the funeral as was also the wife of the deceased who lives in Chicago. Mr. McCumber’s death was caused by a paralytic stroke.

#2-23 Nov., 1905 - The Pilot - Albert T. McCumber

The news of the death of Mr. Albert T. McCumber of Chicago on Thursday reached Blair in the evening. Mr. McCumber was the son of Frank McCumber of this city, and was an old Blair boy born in 1867. He was a telegraph operator and an expert, and learned the business in Blair while message boy at the depot serving under George Dennis. His death was the result of a stroke of paralysis. The body was sent to Blair, arriving here Monday. The funeral was held from the home of E. J. Farr Monday afternoon. Those present from out of town were Mrs. Albert McCumber, his wife, of Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Nairn of Carroll, cousins.

Note: His father Frances and mother Mary Elizabeth are buried in the Blair Cemetery. No burial records were located for Albert.
