#1-4 Oct., 1905 - Blair Courier and the Pilot 2 Oct., 1905- Jemima Fawcett

Mrs. Jemima Fawcett, widow of the late Dr. S. H. Fawcett, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. McMenemy in Omaha at 3:00 o’clock last Friday afternoon, Sept. 29, 1905. The body was brought to this city on the 2:45 train Sunday afternoon and was followed to the cemetery by a large number of friends, there being about sixty carriages in line. Rev. G. F. Hamm, pastor of the Christian church of which church Mrs. Fawcett was a member for many years, conducted a short service at the grave. Mrs. Fawcett was born at Geesport, Ind. June 11, 1833, and came to this county with her husband in 1868. Dr. Fawcett built the third house in the new town of Blair in 1869 and practiced his profession until his death in November, 1896. Mrs. Fawcett lived in the old home on west Grant Street until about five months ago when she went to live with her daughter in Omaha. She was taken sick shortly after she went down there and failed gradually until the fatal hour arrived. The pallbearers were Geo. B. Riker, Joe S. Cook, Jud. Taylor, J. W. Newell, W. M. Martin and Geo. P. DeTemple.

Mrs. Jemima Fawcett, widow of the late Dr. S. H. Fawcett, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. McMenemy in Omaha September 29, 1905. Mrs. Fawcett was born June 11, 1833 at Frankfort, Ind. In 1868 Dr. And Mrs. Fawcett settled in Washington county, Nebraska, and Dr. Fawcett built the third or fourth house in the new town of Blair in April, 1869. Mrs. Fawcett resided in Blair over thirty six years, but for the last five months had made her home with her daughter in Omaha. She was the mother of eight children, three of whom survive her, Mary E. McMenemy and Edward E. Fawcett of Omaha and Harland Fawcett of Los Angeles, Cal. Burial services were held in this city Sunday afternoon upon the arrival of the body from Omaha, Rev. F. G. Hamm officiating.
