#1-13 Sept., 1905 - Blair Courier - Andrew F.Johnson, Sr.

Andrew Johnson, Sr. died at his home on the corner of Washington and Fourth streets at 2 o’clock last Thursday morning from cancer of the stomach. The funeral was held at the Danish church Friday morning, and interment made in the Orum cemetery near his old home on the farm. He is survived by a widow and one son, Andrew, who lives on the old farm. Mr. Johnson bought the place opposite T. E. King’s residence about a year ago and only a week or so ago had cement walks put in around the entire corner, despite the fact that he knew he could not live long to enjoy this and other improvements. The family all visited the old home and friends in Denmark from February to December, 1904, and while there Andrew, Jr., was married and brought his wife home with him. Deceased was born in 1838, came to America in 1870, and to this state in 1879. He was a very intelligent and interesting man and will be greatly missed by his many friends.

#2-14 Sept., 1905 - The Blair Democrat - Andrew F. Johnson

Andrew F. Johnson died at his home in Blair last Thursday, and the body taken out to the farm near Orum, from which place the funeral took place. Rev. Henrichsen officiated, and interment was made in the Orum cemetery. Deceased was born in Denmark in 1838, and came to Perth Amboy, New Jersey in 1870. Two years later he was married to Miss Adelidia Victoria Ring, and in the same year a son was born to this union. In 1879 the family came to Nebraska where they have since made their home, except about eleven months which time was spent in Europe and where the only child, Andrew, was married. Mr. Johnson was a man well liked by all who knew him, and by hard work and saving had accumulated considerable of this world’s goods. The son and wife survive him.

#3-11 Sept., 1905 - The Pilot - Andrew Johnson, Sr.

Andrew Johnson, Sr., an old time resident of Washington county, died at his home on the corner of Washington and Fourth streets at two o’clock Thursday morning from cancer of the stomach. About a year ago Mr. Johnson bought this property and moved to town where he could get the benefit of prompt medical attention and realizing the chances against him, he has done considerable to improve the home, only recently having put in several hundred feet of cement walks. Mr. Johnson had traveled quite extensively, and was an interesting conversationalist and a man who enjoyed a wide acquaintance. The funeral was held Friday from the Danish church, and the remains were taken to the Orum cemetery for interment. The Pilot joins with the many friends of the family in extending sympathy to the bereaved ones. Mr. Johnson was born in Denmark in 1838. Came to America in 1870, and to Nebraska in 1879. He married Miss A. V. Ring in 1872, and the union resulted in one son, Andrew Johnson, Jr. of Arlington. The family visited Denmark from February to December, 1904, and while there the young man was married and brought his wife home with him.
