#1-28 June, 1905 - Blair Courier - Louis (Louie) Opeland

Louis Opeland died Sunday at his home on the farm of typhoid fever, which turned to meningitis. The funeral was conducted by Dr. Markley at the Methodist church at 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon, and interment at the Blair cemetery. He was 63 years of age last February and leaves a wife and two children. A brother from Beresford, S.D. was here to attend the funeral.

#2-28 June, 1905 - The Pilot - Louis Opeland

The funeral of Louis Opeland was held at the Methodist church, and the funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Markley. Mr. Opeland was born in Norway in 1842 and came to Nebraska thirty five years ago. He lived on his homestead northwest of Blair until about the time he was married to his second wife, Anna Washgren. This spring he moved out onto his farm on the bottom where he contracted typhoid fever from which he died Sunday morning. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife and two children, Ellen and Ole.

#3-29 June, 1905 - The Blair Democrat - Louis Opeland

Louie Opeland died Sunday morning from meningitis, and was buried Tuesday afternoon from the Methodist church at two o’clock, Rev. A. J. Markley officiating. Deceased leaves a wife and two children to mourn his loss, but as Mr. Opeland owned considerable property they will be left in comfortable circumstances.
