W. W. Ely, a prominent and wealthy farmer, who resides three fourths of a mile north of Arlington, died Sunday morning of a self inflicted wound. On Saturday morning he shot himself with a 22 caliber rifle, dying twenty four hours later without regaining consciousness. Mr. Ely leaves a wife and two children, and domestic trouble is supposed to have been the cause of his taking his life. Coroner Pierce and sheriff Mencke went over Sunday to hold an inquest, the jury bringing a suicidal verdict.
