#1-16 Apr., 1906 - The Pilot - Etta Carter

The funeral of Mrs. Baxter Carter took place yesterday from the Methodist church. Some time ago Mrs. Carter had an attack of the grip, but had about recovered - in fact so far recovered as to be up around looking after her work. On Thursday she was feeling well and cheerful and on Friday morning got breakfast for the family. About eight thirty she was taken ill and at five forty in the evening she died. What was the cause the doctors are unable to state. She was thirty four years old last October and was married to Mr. Carter twelve years ago at Plattsmouth. She leaves two children - a boy eleven and a girl eight years old. A large circle of friends both here and in Plattsmouth extend sympathy to the bereaved family in the loss of wife and mother.

#2-18 Apr., 1906 - The Blair Courier - Mrs. Baxter Carter

Mrs. Baxter Carter died very suddenly last Friday evening from an internal hemorrhage, having been seriously ill only a few hours. She was just recovering from an attack of grip and was able to be around at her work, but her weakened condition made the hemorrhage fatal in a few hours. The funeral was held at the Methodist church at three o’clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. Shick, her pastor, officiating. Mrs. Carter was a daughter of Dr. Schaldknedt of Plattsmouth and was married to Baxter Carter at that place March 7th, 1893. She was 34 years of age, and besides the husband, leaves two children, a boy 10 and a girl 8 years of age. Mrs. Carter was a member of the Methodist church and was as true and devoted a Christian as ever lived. The sympathy of all is extended to the grief-stricken husband and those motherless children.
