The family of Theodore Biffar, residing one mile west of Carter schoolhouse, met with a sad loss Wednesday evening of this week. Two sons - one of ten and the other eight years old - went after the cows and in wading a gulch the younger was drowned. The Republican has no further particulars.

#2- 31 Aug., 1903 - The Pilot - George Biffar The sad news of the drowning of little Geo. Buffer reached this city Thursday morning and saddened many a heart. The little fellow who was only five years old had followed the older brother out into the field after the cattle and in stepping over a small stream fell in a was carried down into deep water and drowned. The body was found lodged about half a mile downstream. The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of all in their affliction which from the nature of the accident makes it doubly sad, especially as the child had attained a most interesting age 3 Sept., 1903 - Blair Republican - George

The funeral of little George Biffar, whose accidental drowning was mentioned in last week’s Republican, took place at the residence in Cuming City township on Wednesday afternoon of last week. There was a good attendance of sympathetic friends to listen to the comforting sermon of Rev. S. W. Richards of Blair. The burial was at Blair cemetery.
