#1-30 July, 1903 - Blair Republican and The Pilot obit dated 30 July, 1903- Mary (Burke) McCormick

Mrs. Wm. McCormick, who died last Monday afternoon at the home near this city was 62 years old and a native of Munsey, Indiana. The family came to this city in 1870 and deceased was an active member in social matters until about five years ago when she was prostrated by a stroke of paralysis, and ever since she has been an invalid, but in her afflictions she had as a solace the devoted care of her daughters and the husband who survives her. The only children were Bertha and May - now Mrs. Stewart and Mrs. Will Koopman. Samuel Burke of Tacoma, Washington and Isaac Burke of Indiana are brothers and Mrs. Eli Richards, a sister, is a resident of Minneapolis. A granddaughter, Mrs. Bessie Ladouceur, resides in Omaha. The funeral is from the residence this Thursday afternoon at 5 p.m. and Rev. J. L. Vallow will officiate. A large circle of friends sympathize with the bereaved family in their great loss and affliction.

After an illness of about five years’ duration, Mrs. Wm. McCormick died at 4 o’clock Monday afternoon, July 27. The funeral service will be held at the house this afternoon at 5 o’clock, and Mrs. J. B. Mayfield will conduct the same by request. Interment will take place in the Blair cemetery. Miss Mary Burke was born in Muncie, Ind. Jan. 29, 1840, and was married to Wm. McCormick at that place July 27, 1863. They came to this city about 33 years ago and have lived here and out on the fruit farm ever since. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Stewart and Mrs. Mae Koopman, one sister in Minneapolis, Minn. and a brother in Tacoma, Wash.
