#1-22 June, 1903 - The Pilot - Emily Elizabeth (Rittenhouse) Kline

After an illness lasting about two weeks, Mrs. E. Kline, who was 77 years old a week ago yesterday, died at her residence northwest of the city this morning at 4 o’clock. Two weeks ago she was taken sick with pneumonia, which was followed by a fatal attack of paralysis. Mr. and Mrs. Kline came to Council Bluffs in 1851 and to Washington county in 1856 where, with the exception of three or four years, Mrs. Kline has since resided. Mr. Kline died in 1872 and his funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Tingley, father of the Rev. Tingley, formerly of Blair, but now of Cheyenne, and this morning Frank Kline, who with his five sisters mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother, wired Rev. Tingley to officiate at the funeral, which will probably be held Thursday. In their long residence in Blair, the family have made many warm friends who deeply sympathize with the bereaved in their sorrow.
