#1-6 Apr., 1903 - The Pilot - Johan “John” K. Ketchmark

The many friends of the Ketchmark family were shocked last Saturday when the news was spread around that John Ketchmark had died at noon at Memorial hospital Omaha. Two weeks ago today Mr. Ketchmark was taken sick from a stroke of paralysis of the brain, and while his case has been serious from the first, yet his friends hoped for the best and were pained to learn that death had removed him from their midst in the prime of manhood, he being about forty six years old. John Ketchmark was born in Michigan City, Ind. in 1858 and came with this parents to Nebraska in 1871, settling in Calhoun where the greater part of his life was spent. Two years ago he moved to Valley where he has since been engaged in business. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, his parents, seven brothers and two sisters, one brother being in Klondike and a sister near Seattle, Wash. The funeral was held from the Congregational Church in Calhoun Sunday afternoon at three o’clock, and was largely attended by the many friends of the family whose sympathies go out to them in their sad bereavement in the loss of husband as well as oldest son and brother. The funeral was preached by Rev. Larkin.

Some two weeks ago John Ketchmark, Jr., formerly of Blair, but of late a resident of Valley, was prostrated by a stroke of paralysis which finally caused his death. He was 46 years old and leaves a wife and many relatives to mourn his decease. The funeral was last Sunday at the Congregational church of Ft. Calhoun, and service by Rev. J. W. Larkin of this city.

The funeral of John Ketchmark was held here at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Congregational church. He leaves a wife, mother and father, two sisters and seven brothers. His home was at Valley, Neb.

#4-9 Apr., 1903 - Blair Courier - John Ketchmark

John Ketchmark, Jr. died at the Marle hospital in Omaha last Saturday from the effects of a paralytic stroke received about a week before. The body was brought up to Calhoun, and the funeral held in the Congregational church at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. J. W. Larkin of this city officiating. Deceased was born in Michigan City, Ind. in 1858, and came with his parents to this county in 1871. Several years ago he moved to Valley, Nebr. where he was living when stricken. Besides his wife and parents, he leaves seven brothers and two sisters.
