19 Mar., 1903 - Blair Republican - Harry Wolf

Last Thursday at 2:30 o’clock Harry Wolf died from bright’s disease, having been sick most all winter. He was 16 years and 9 months of age. Deceased was the next youngest son of Adolph Wolf living half a mile west of Orum. Saturday afternoon a short and appropriate service was conducted at the Danish Lutheran church by Rev. Larsen. Encouraging words from Rev. 14:13, “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord”, were spoken to the bereaved parents and friends. The speaker made a special plea to the youth to guard themselves against the workings of the flesh described in Gal. 5:19-22. The bereaved family has the sympathy of this entire community.

“Tis sad indeed, this world of ours,
Where we are placed to tread,
Some are married some are buried,
Some have joy while others weep.
Then let us joy with those that weep,
Let us make a little Eden
Of the sphere we occupy,
Let us speak sweet words of comfort
To the sad and weary souls,
Let us help our needy neighbors,
Than our selfish selves to please.
The Scribe.
