#1-9 Mar., 1903 - The Pilot - Harlow J. Carpenter

Harlow J. Carpenter, one of Washington county’s most prominent citizens, died at his home in Fontanelle last Friday morning at 2:00 o’clock after suffering thirteen months from the effects of a stroke of paralysis. Mr. Carpenter was seventy two years of age and came to Nebraska in an early day where he has always figured prominently in the county affairs. He has always been a consistent worker for the republican party and his labors have not been in vain. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn the loss of a devoted husband and father besides many friends all of over this section of the state who regret his demise and extend their sympathies to the family in their bereavement. The funeral occurred yesterday, and was attended by many friends of the family.

#2-12 Mar., 1903 - Blair Republican - Harlow J. Carpenter

Harlow J. Carpenter of Fontanelle, one of the original settlers of Fontanelle, died on Friday of last week at the age of 72 years. He had borne a prominent part in town and county affairs, serving on the board of supervisors several terms. He was a man of good judgment and large experience who will be much missed in the community which he helped to found. A wife and five grown sons and daughters mourn his demise. The funeral was on Sunday and was largely attended.

#3-12 Mar., 1903 - Blair Courier - Harlow J. Carpenter

Harlow J. Carpenter, aged about 75, died at 2 o’clock last Friday morning at his home in Fontanelle after suffering from paralysis for thirteen months. He has been very low for a considerable period and his death was not unexpected. The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon. Mr. Carpenter was one of the oldest and best know residents of (rest is missing)
